Tell us about the charge
Call (718) 484-7510, or use the form below. You get a free conversation with an immigration attorney in your language: we speak English, Russian, Spanish and Uzbek in-house, and we bring in a live interpreter for anything else. We will read the charge against the immigration statute, tell you what the offered plea does to your status and to every form of relief, and tell you what to ask your criminal lawyer to negotiate instead. If the plea has already been entered, we will tell you what can still be done. If we are not the right firm, we will say so.
Request a plea review
Everything marked required is needed so we can reach you. Everything else helps us prepare.
Never put your A-number in a web form
Do not put it in ours, and do not put it in anyone else's. Your alien registration number is the key to your entire immigration file. Bring it to the phone call or the office instead. If you have already put it somewhere online, tell us and we will talk about it.
Faster than the form
If the plea is due soon, do not wait for an email. Call (718) 484-7510. The line is answered around the clock, and a plea date inside two weeks, a detained family member, or a hearing in immigration court should always be a phone call. A plea entered before the immigration answer arrives is much harder to undo than a plea that was put off a week.
What the conversation covers
- We will ask what the charge is, what plea is being offered, and what sentence comes with it, and we will read those against the immigration statute.
- We will ask your immigration status, because the same plea does different things to a green card holder, a visa holder, a person with no status and a person with a pending application.
- We will go through your record: every prior arrest and disposition, anywhere, including the ones that were sealed, dismissed or "just a violation." They change the answer, and we will tell you how.
- We will tell you which grounds of removal and which forms of relief the plea touches, and what to ask your criminal lawyer to negotiate instead.
- If the plea is already entered, we will tell you whether it actually fits the ground charged and what can still be done in the criminal court.
- We will tell you whether you need an immigration lawyer at all right now, and whether that lawyer should be us.
What it costs
The plea review is free. If we take the matter, we quote a flat legal fee and confirm it in writing before we begin. Government filing fees, including the fees for applications, waivers and motions before USCIS or the immigration court, are paid to USCIS or to the Department of Justice and are never part of our fee.
Languages
We speak English, Russian, Spanish and Uzbek in-house. We arrange live interpretation for other languages. Tell us in the form which language you want the conversation to happen in.
If you are worried about privacy
A person with a pending criminal case has real reasons to be careful about what goes in writing. Call instead of writing. Use a phone number that is yours. We will follow your lead on how you want to be contacted, and we will not leave detailed messages unless you tell us it is safe to. Nothing you enter in the plea tool leaves your browser.
